Iran puts new destroyer warship into service

TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (YPA) – The Iranian-made new destroyer warship, which cannot be detected by radar, entered on Monday service in the navy forces.

Iran’s “Fars” agency said that the new warship, named the (Dilman) joined the Northern Fleet of the Iranian Navy in the port of Bandar Anzali, in the presence of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri.

The destroyer has modern equipment and will contribute to Iran’s navy and is part of an Iranian class of similar ships called the Mowj or Mudge class. They weigh around 1300 to 1,500 tons and are based on Iran’s IRIS Jamaran destroyer which was launched in 2010.

According to the agency, “The other feature of the destroyer is the use of advanced radar platforms and equipped with an advanced four-sided mast in the shape of an eagle’s eye, each face of which contains 1,000 matrices.
The agency indicated that the destroyer’s radar can detect 100 targets and intercept 13 targets at the same time, such as fighters, drones, helicopters, and surface-to-air missiles, and intercept floating targets.
