LONDON, Nov. 12 (YPA) – At least nine police officers were injured during pro-Gaza protests in the British capital on Saturday, and that they had arrested 232 demonstrators, London police said.
According to London police, they had arrested about 150 pro-Palestinian protesters who were lighting firecrackers and 82 extremists who clashed with security forces during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in London.
Police added: “Nine officers have been injured on Whitehall Street.”
Police explained that the arrests began when some fireworks fired at security officers in their faces.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said: “I condemn the events that took place during the protests in which participants attacked the police, shouted anti-Semitic slogans and put Hamas symbols on their clothes.”
