Yemen hosts first forum to combat financial crime
SANAA, Oct. 28 (YPA) – The Institute of Banking Studies, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Yemen’s Information Collection Unit, hosted on Saturday Yemen’s first forum to combat financial crimes in Sanaa.
Participants from ministries, government institutions, law enforcement agencies (investigation agencies), and private sector institutions debated nine working papers on financial crime and its prevention, organized crime and its various ramifications, corruption crimes, and their relationship with financial institutions.
The papers also addressed drug crimes and their links to financial crimes and cybercrime in the age of technological advances, the role of law enforcement agencies in combating financial crimes, and the role of the media in battling financial crimes, as well as partnership with the private sector in combating financial crimes.
