Yemen to witness Saturday night partial lunar eclipse

SANAA, Oct. 28 (YPA) – Yemen and most of the world’s countries will witness the Saturday nighta partial lunar eclipse, which will last for more than four hours and is considered the last lunar eclipse during the current year, 2023.

According to astronomical and media sources, all stages of the eclipse take an estimated period of four hours and 25 minutes from its beginning to its end. While the first partial eclipse until the second partial eclipse takes an estimated period of one hour and 17 minutes.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the Earth’s penumbra, and it is partial, as only a small part of it passes through the Earth’s complete shadow. During this type of eclipse, part of the moon becomes dark as it moves through the Earth’s shadow, which is the lower part of the moon’s disk as it will be seen in Egypt.
