Grundberg concludes series of meetings in London regarding Yemen

SANAA, Oct. 25 (YPA) – The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, emphasized the urgent need to reach a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.

He also stressed the importance of concerted efforts by both the international community and the member states of the Security Council to bring “the Yemenis” closer to a just peace.

This came as Grundberg concluded a series of meetings in the British capital, London, during which he met with Lord Tariq Ahmed, Lord of Wimbledon, Minister of State for the Middle East, South Asia, and the United Nations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development, as well as other senior officials from the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).

Discussions included recent developments in Yemen and UN efforts to facilitate agreement on measures to improve living conditions in Yemen, a nationwide ceasefire, and an inclusive Yemeni political process under the auspices of the UN.
