Taiz city to witness mass protests on Friday

TAIZ, Oct. 06 (YPA) – Mass protests will be held on Friday to denounce the deterioration of electricity sector in the city of Taiz, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.

An online campaign, using the hashtag #Taiz_Tafy (Taiz is without electricity), called on citizens to gather and participate in Friday prayers, October 6, 2022, in front of Osifra power station in Taiz city.

This comes in protest against the continued power outage in the city of Taiz since the beginning of the war, which led to a humanitarian tragedy for millions of residents in the governorate.

On Wednesday, an online campaign was launched, calling on the pro-coalition local authorities to restart the Osifra power station, provide public electricity to citizens and alleviate their suffering.
