IAEA’s inspectors leave Iran

THERAN, July 04 (YPA) – The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced on Friday its inspectors left Iran.

This came after Tehran had announced that it would cease cooperation with the IAEA following the end of the Israeli aggression on Iran.

“After staying in Tehran during the recent military conflict, IAEA inspectors left Iran today safely and returned to the IAEA’s headquarters in Vienna, the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said in a statement.

Grossi stressed the vital importance of the agency’s discussions with Iran on ways to resume essential monitoring and verification activities in Iran as soon as possible.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had approved a law suspending cooperation with the IAEA on Wednesday, while Iranian lawmakers had voted earlier in favor of a bill to stop cooperation with the agency.
