SHABWA, Oct. 06 (YPA) – Armed clashes erupted on Thursday evening between military factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Shabwa province in southeast Yemen, local sources said.
According to local sources, the confrontation broke out between the Special Forces affiliated with Islah Party and the UAE-backed Shabwa Defense Forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the city of Ataq.
The clashes left dead and wounded, but the exact number is still unknown yet, the sources said.
Shabwa governorate has been witnessing a conflict between the coalition factions, as each faction attempts to control the oil and gas sources in the governorate.
