Egypt: One killed 25 injured in massive fire at police facilty in Ismailia

WORLD, Oct. 02 (YPA) – A huge fire broke out at the headquarters of police facility in Ismailia Governorate, northeast of Cairo, at dawn on Monday, and the civil protection forces were able to extinguish it.

Civil protection forces pushed dozens of fire trucks to put out the fire, while the branch of the ambulance authority in Ismailia province pushed a number of ambulances to transport the injured to the hospital.

Media reported that the fire broke out at about 4:00 o’clock in the morning and spread throughout the building.

Egyptian media reported that parts of the burning building coalpsed, while army fire trucks took part in extinguishing the fire.

Ismailia province announced a state of emergency in all hospitals in the province to receive the victims of the fire.

Medical sources said a number of recruits had been rescued and others were still trapped inside the building, adding that some of the injured were in critical condition.

For its part, Egyptian media reported one was killed and 25 injured so far.
