WORLD, Oct. 02 (YPA) – Nazeli Baghdasaryan, spokeswoman of the Armenian prime minister, said that over 45,000 displaced persons from Karabakh region have arrived in Armenia” by Sunday evening.
She added that 47,322 refugees were now in temporary accommodation.
Assistant to Azerbaijani President Hikmat Hajiyev said on September 22 that the integration of Karabakh Armenians into the economic, political and social life of Azerbaijan will be difficult, and it is possible that some will not accept this policy and decide to leave.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly stressed that Karabakh Armenians will have the same rights as citizens of Azerbaijan.
On September 19, Azerbaijan launched a military operation in Karabakh, calling it anti-terrorist measures of a local nature’ to ‘restore constitutional order’ in the territory.
Yerevan called it aggression, saying there were no Armenian units in Karabakh.
