New confrontations erupt in Abyan

ABYAN, Sept. 30 (YPA) – Armed confrontations renewed on Saturday in Al-Mahfad district, east of coalition-held Abyan province, south of Yemen.

Local sources said that confrontations returned between militants of Al Khalil and Masoud Bakazem tribes in Al-Khudaira area of the district following the end of the truce between the two sides.

The sources confirmed that the clashes came after the end of the truce sponsored by sheikhs and Shabwa tribes in mid-September in the Al-Dahkah area, following the killing of 8 people from both sides, due to a dispute over a piece of land.
