Afash’s family provokes Yemenis with lavish wedding ceremony in UAE

SANAA, Sept. 28 (YPA) – A wedding ceremony of son of Tariq Mohammed Abdullah Saleh Afash, a member of the “Presidential Leadership Council” loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, sparked angry reactions among the Yemeni people.

This is because of the state of extravagance that appeared in videos circulated about the ceremony that was held in the UAE.

Many observers considered that Tariq Afash did not care for the feelings of Yemenis who suffer from the scourge of hunger in a country exhausted by war and siege for nine years.

Some said that the extravagant features of luxury at the wedding of Tariq Afash’s son “Afash” confirm the extent of the isolation experienced by the pro-coalition factions’ leaders from the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Activists found the extreme luxury of Afash’s wedding an occasion to recall the necessity of prosecuting Afash’s family for money stolen from Yemen during the 33 years of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh Afash’s rule of the country.

Other activists estimate that the wedding of Tariq Afash’s son in the UAE cost over two million dollars.
