Security circular prevents Islah party from holding events in Mukalla

HADRAMOUT, Sept. 28 (YPA) – The security authorities in the city of Mukalla of Hadramout province, issued a circular banning the activities of political parties without prior approval from the local authority.

Activists circulated on social media a circular issued by the city’s Security Department addressed to managers of hotels, halls, lounges and institutes, prevent to hold events or seminars for political parties only after taking a written permission from the “local authority”, as well as obliging tenants to write pledges not to use the hall for other than the purpose rented for it, holding them responsible for violating this.

Last Saturday, the security authorities in Mukalla prevented Islah party from holding a workshop in a volunteer hall entitled “Protecting rights and freedoms”.
