Pro-coalition wounded recruit commits suicide in Marib
MARIB, Sept. 28 (YPA) – One of the wounded recruits from the forces loyal to the Saudi-led coalition has committed suicide in the city of Marib, northeastern Yemen due to the suspension of his salary and the obstruction of his travel for treatment abroad.
The wounded recruit “Rayyan Ma’odah” committed suicide due to the deterioration of his psychological, health, and living conditions, the Saudi “Al-Hadath” TV channel reported.
According to sources, the wounded conscript committed suicide on the night of September 26 in the Al-Nasr complex, the housing designated for the coalition’s wounded in Marib, after the Ministry of Defense of the government loyal to the coalition stopped the salaries of a number of the wounded, including Ma’odah, against the backdrop of their organizing on September 18 of last year a protest in front of the ministry to demand that they be sent for treatment abroad.
In this context, Abdulrahman Al-Muqadhi, a conscript in the ranks of the coalition forces, said in a post on Facebook platform that Ma’odah is the fifth wounded person to commit suicide in Marib.
The medical committees concerned with the travel of pro-coalition wounded recruits had accused the pro-coalition government of exercising selectivity in treating the wounded. The cities of Marib and Taiz witnessed many protests and demonstrations in an attempt by wounded conscripts to put pressure on the pro-coalition authorities to send them for treatment abroad.
