HADRAMOUT, Sept. 24 (YPA) – Mass protest organized on Sunday in Al-Shehr district of Hadramout province to express rejection and condemnation of the collapsed living situation, the increasing deterioration in economic conditions and the decline in services, especially electricity and water.
The protesters pointed out that the government and the authority in the governorate were clearly unable to meet the service requirements of citizens and intervene to alleviate their living suffering and remained spectators of the deplorable and frightening situation that has befallen people.
The protest rally set up by the free movement of Al-Shehr city stressed the need to open the port of Al-shehr, which is the vital and main port of the city, and its revenues are due to the revival of the economy and trade, and generates benefits for the authority and provides opportunities for employment of workers, as well as the opening of Al-Rayyan airport fully to the navigational traffic.
The protesters also demanded to cancel the increase in the price of fuel, especially since diesel is specifically produced locally, stressing that the adoption of a new price dose in the prices of oil derivatives in the largest Yemeni province producing crude oil is something that can only happen in light of rampant corruption and irresponsibility.
They also demanded the dismissal of the director of the oil company due to repeated increases in the prices of oil.
