Syria, China Sign agreement on strategic cooperation

WORLD, Sept. 23 (YPA) – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday held a summit meeting in the Chinese city of Hangzhouز during which they signed an agreement on strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said during the summit meeting: “Syria is one of the first countries to establish relations with the new China.”

“Today we will jointly announce the establishment of a strategic partnership, which will become an important milestone in the history of relations between the two countries,” Xi said in a video during the meeting broadcast by China Central Television.

For his part, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad praised the positive role of China.
