HADRAMOUT, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Angry protests resumed on Monday to hit the city of Mukalla, the center of Hadramout Governorate, eastern Yemen, local sources said.
According to the sources, the protestors blocked traffic on the main street in the city and blocked a number of the city’s main streets.
The protestors demanded the reform of services after the deterioration of electricity and water. They condemned the local authority’s approval of new price of fuel, which led to a rise in food prices and transportation prices.
They demand the cancellation of the new tariff of fuel, especially since diesel fuel is a local product from PetroMasila Company and not imported.
The local authority buys it for 180 riyals per liter and sells it to the citizens ten times price.
