OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 29 (YPA) – At least 16 Israeli soldiers have died by suicide since the beginning of this year, the Israeli public broadcaster KAN reported on Tuesday
According to KAN, the figure includes eight soldiers in regular service, seven reservists, and one in permanent service.
KAN added that 21 soldiers died by suicide in 2024, compared to 17 cases in 2023.
Since the outbreak of the war on October 7, around 3,770 soldiers have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), while over half of the 19,000 injured soldiers are currently receiving psychological treatment, according to the channel .
KAN quoted military sources as saying that it is not possible to definitively conclude a general rise in suicide rates, but the data indicates an increase in cases among reservist soldiers involved in combat operations.
