Islah factions continue to arrest 25 teachers in Lahj

LAHJ, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Residents in Al Maqatirah District in north of Lahj, southern Yemen, denounced the continued arrest of 25 teachers from the area for the second month in a row, by the forces of the Fourth Mountain Infantry Brigade, affiliated with the Islah party.

The residents organized angry protests condemning the arrest of teachers and taking them to secret prisons, illegally and without any charge other than bullying and humiliating people.

The held the authority of the “Presidential Leadership Council” responsible for the safety of teachers, demanding their immediate release .

The residents along with teachers’ wives had closed the directorate’s schools in a protest against their continued detention, which caused disruption to the educational process, with the brigade’s leadership did not respond to their demands .
