Women police chief jailed for refusing to free some prisoners in Taiz

TAIZ, Sept. 03 (YPA) – A female police commander in Taiz governorate was brutally assaulted and thrown into the central prison by a senior Islah security official.

According to local sources, the assistant director of Taiz governorate police for security affairs, Colonel Nabil al-Kadhi, directed the arrest of the director of the women’s police and the policewoman on duty and throwing them in the central prison.”

The sources pointed out that these directives came after the police women rejected orders as they are violation of  the law.

Moreover, the sources explained that Colonel Al-Kadhi came late on Friday evening, to the central prison in Taiz, in order to get out a number of female prisoners.

The sources confirmed that the women’s police refused to take out the women after midnight, which angered Colonel Al-Kadhi and he assaulted the policewomen  and ordered his escorts to imprison them, under the pretext of introducing narcotic substances of hashish to female prisoners.
