Journalists Syndicate condemns abduction of Mujahid al-Qubb by UAE-backed forces

HODEIDA, Sept.03 (YPA) – The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate on Saturday condemned the kidnapping of journalist Mujahid al-Qubb by the UAE-backed Tariq Affash forces in the western province of Hodeida, western Yemen.

The syndicate said in a statement that it received a communication from the colleagues of journalist Mujahid Al-Qubb stating that the colleague was assaulted in his home and then arrested and thrown into the prison of the Khokha Security Department, south of Hodeida governorate, by gunmen affiliated with Brigadier General Yahya Al-Wahish, the commander of the so-called Ninth Al-Amaliqa Brigade, who recently joined Tariq Afash’s forces.

The Journalists Syndicate called on the security authorities in Al-Khokha district to immediately release the journalist Al-Qubb, investigate the incident and punish those involved.

The syndicate held the aggressors and the security authorities responsible for what the journalist was subjected to and the consequent deterioration of his health condition.
