SANAA, Aug. 16 (YPA) – At least ten people were killed and 50 others were injured on Tuesday by an explosion near the capital of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo.
The Associated Press News Agency quoted the country’s emergency service as saying: “an explosion occurred in a bakery in the center of the city of San Cristobal, west of the capital, before spreading to two neighboring stores, one for computer equipment and another for selling furniture, killing ten people and injuring 50 others, while another 11 people are still missing”.
The emergency service added that the authorities are still trying to extinguish the fire amid collapsed buildings and charred vehicles, while investigations are still ongoing to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
