Popular protests sweep several areas of Abyan

ABYAN, July. 20 (YPA) – Hundreds of people took on Thursday to the streets of Zinjibar district of Abyan province against electricity cuts and a worsening economic crisis that sweep the province and Yemen’s south generally.

In a protest rally, the participants accused the pro-coalition governor of practicing corruption and an umbrella for the corrupt, according to the banners raised by the protesters in the demonstration.

The protesters vowed to escalate in the coming days if the coalition did not work to change the governor and put urgent solutions to the tragedy suffered by citizens.
