SANAA, July. 12 (YPA) – The head of the Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, commented on Tuesday the collapse of the local currency in the coalition-held south provinces of Yemen.
Al-Mashat affirmed that the collapse of the local currency, lack of electricity and water services, and the security chaos are a result of the policies of impoverishment and starvation practiced by the American-backed Saudi-led coalition in the in the south.
This came during his meeting with the Speaker of the Shura Council, Mohammed Hussein Al-Aidarous.
Al-Mashat pointed out that the economic war on the Yemeni people, the besiege, transferring the operations of the Central Bank, and cutting the salaries of all state employees, have indicated that coalition has been pursuing starvation policies for this people since the beginning of the war.
During the meeting, Al-Aidarous briefed Al-Mashat on the work of the Shura Council during the past year, and also presented a report on the situation in the south provinces.
