WORLD, July 09 (YPA) –Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar announced that Kiev authorities claimed responsibility for the attack on the Crimean bridge in 2022, “to disrupt Russian logistics.”
She wrote on Telegram: “It’s been 273 days since [we] struck the first blow to the Crimean bridge to disrupt the logistics of the Russians.”
At the end of May, the head of the SBU, Vasyl Maliuk, said that Kiev wanted to “cut off the logistics route” to the peninsula and took appropriate measures, but did not specify which ones.
On the morning of October 8, a truck was blown up on the Crimean bridge. Because of this, seven railway tanks with fuel from the train traveling along the railway part of the crossing caught fire.
As a result, two car spans partially collapsed, but the supports of the arch for the passage of ships were not damaged.
The bridge was briefly halted before it was restored and traffic resumed between Crimea and the rest of Russia.
In the aftermath of the attack, the Russian military began destroying infrastructure sites, command points and concentrations of Kiev forces throughout Ukraine, in precision missile strikes that it directs almost daily.
