FM congratulates some countries on occasion of election them to non-permanent membership in Security Council
SANAA, June 07 (YPA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, sent congratulatory letters to the Foreign Ministers of the people’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the cooperative Republic of Guyana, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Republic of Slovenia on the occasion of the election of their countries by the United Nations General Assembly to non-permanent membership in the Security Council for the period 2024-2026.
In the letters, the Foreign Minister expressed confidence in the diplomacy of those countries and their experience in the field of multilateral relations, which will work to preserve the goals for which the United Nations was founded.
He also stressed that the Republic of Yemen appreciates the position of those countries rejecting the military aggression and the comprehensive blockade on Yemen, and supporting efforts to reach a comprehensive political settlement.
