Political, military developments in Hadramout spark worry among oil firms

HADRAMOUT, June 01 (YPA) – The political and military developments taking place Hadramout province, eastern Yemen have sparked the great concern among the international companies of oil and gas.

Sources familiar with the matter said that the arrival of the European Union’s ambassadors to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to meet Hadramout’s components and its authorities loyal to the Saudi-led coalition came amid a state of fears of the countries participating in the plundering of crude oil from the Hadramout fields.

The sources affirmed that the movements of the EU ambassadors, including the French and the British, and their intervention in the Yemeni affairs, particularly Hadramout, aimed at search of their countries’ interests in the eastern provinces of Yemen.

The sources indicated those countries want the situation to remain in a state of tensions so that impose foreign agendas.

The oil fields in Hadramout are being managed by Masila Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (PetroMasila), in addition to Sector 9, run by Octavia Company, both of which are agents for a number of foreign companies.
