Armed clashes leave wounded in Abyan

ABYAN, May 11 (YPA) – Armed clashes erupted Wednesday in Abyan province’s Al-Mahfad district between the factions of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and local militants, leaving several wounded.

According to local sources in the province, armed elements believed to be affiliated with al-Qaeda attacked the positions of the UAE-affiliated First Brigade in Wadi al-Khayala, al-Mahfad, with light and medium weapons.

The sources confirmed that the attack left a wounded man among the factions present in the area, indicating that the confrontations lasted for hours without giving the total number of human and material losses.
