Minister of Transport: Tanker to replace Safer must meet standards and specifications

SANAA, May 08 (YPA) – Minister of Transport, Abdulwahab Yahya al-Durra, stressed the importance of UN’s commitment to implement what was previously agreed upon regarding the alternative ship to “Safer” in terms of specifications and efficiency so that the unloading process is carried out easily  in order to avoid any catastrophic repercussions.

During his meeting today at the Maritime Affairs Authority in Sanaa, Al-Durra said the tanker to replace ‘Safer’ must meet standards and specifications agreed upon between the Supervisory Committee for the Implementation of the Safer Agreement and the United Nations in March 2022.

He pointed to the role of the Maritime Affairs Authority in preserving Yemeni territorial waters, the marine environment, and security and safety of navigation in cooperation with the naval forces and the Yemeni Coast Guard Authority.
