RIYADH, April 30 (YPA) – About 65 Iranians among 1,900 people who were evacuated from Sudan, which has been witnessing battles for two weeks, arrived on Saturday on the city of Jeddah by a Saudi ship.
The Iranian diplomat Hassan Zarnarkar Abarqoi, who was receiving the Iranians at the King Faseel Naval Base in Jeddah told AFP it is the first group of Iranians that transferred by the Kingdom since the evacuation began.
The evacuation of the Iranians came in the midst of the rapprochement between Riyadh and Tehran since the two most prominent regional powers announced an agreement to resume their relations on March 10, after a seven-year break.
