Uncertainty surrounds fate of Saudi defense minister, top military commanders following missile attack on Riyadh
RIYADH, Oct. 24 (YPA) – Media platforms close to intelligence circles have leaked preliminary reports featuring the names and photographs of several senior military commanders allegedly killed in a ballistic missile strike carried out by Sanaa forces late last week targeting the Ministry of Defense headquarters in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
According to circulated information, the purported casualty list includes top-tier leadership from the Saudi Ministry of Defense, most notably Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, alongside the Chief of General Staff and the Commander of the Strategic Missile Force. The officials were reportedly targeted while attending a high-level military meeting.
In the same context, sources pointed to an unprecedented and complete absence of the aforementioned officials from the political and military scene over the past hours, amid reports of ongoing efforts to prepare domestic public opinion to absorb the shock.
The targeting of the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Riyadh comes within the framework of the “siege for siege and escalation for escalation” equation declared by Sanaa forces in response to the ongoing war and blockade on Yemen.
