Putin threatens to respond to use of weapons with nuclear component

MOSCOW, March 22 (YPA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that Russia would be forced to retaliate if the collective West began using weapons with a nuclear component in the Ukraine crisis.

“Today we learned that Britain, through the deputy head of the country’s defense ministry, announced the supply of not only tanks but also depleted uranium shells to Ukraine,” Putin said, according to the “Novosti” agency.

He continued: “It seems that the West really decided to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian, not only in words but also in deeds.”

Putin made this warning after the emergence of information about British plans to supply Ukraine with missiles containing depleted uranium.

Earlier, British Deputy Defense Secretary Annabelle Goldie said that Britain would transfer ammunition containing depleted uranium to Ukraine.
