Angry march roams streets of Al-Houtah in Lahj

LAHJ, March 19 (YPA) -Hundreds of people in the Al-Hawtah and Tuban districts of Lahj province, southern Yemen, held a protest on Sunday to condemn the continued abduction of Sheikh Yasser Al-Ozaibi by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia .

The protesters raised banners and slogans demanding the immediate release of Al-Uzaibi, who was abducted nearly three weeks ago and placed in one of the prisons under the supervision of Saleh Al-Sayed Al-Yafei, the security director of Lahj governate.

They roamed the streets of the city of Al-Houtah, the center of Lahj governorate, chanting slogans denouncing the security chaos plaguing the governorate, and demanding the release of Al-Uzaibi.

The demonstrators handed the coalition’s governor in Lahj a copy of their demands as they carried out a protest in front of the local authority headquarters.

It is noteworthy that elements affiliated with the leader Saleh Al-Sayed Al-Yafei, surrounded Al-Uzaibi’s house at the end of last February, and took him to a secret prison, over a dispute that erupted between Al-Uzaibi and influential people close to the director of security, Saleh Al-Sayed, regarding a piece of land in Lahj.
