Draft resolution in US House of Representatives calls for withdrawal of forces from Syria

WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 (YPA) – Republican Representative Matt Gates has submitted to the US House of Representatives a draft resolution obligating US President Joe Biden to withdraw forces from Syria.

The draft resolution indicates that the number of US forces on the territory of Syria is 900, although Congress has not approved this.

“Before now, Congress has not endorsed in any way the presence of American armed forces in Syria,” the Republican Representative stated in a statement.

As it relates to war and peace concerns, Gates stated that the House of Representatives should vote on the draft resolution within 18 days after its introduction.
