Coalition kidnaps Yemeni journalist again in Taiz

TAIZ, Feb. 21 (YPA) – A Yemeni journalist was kidnapped once again on Tuesday by militants loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Taiz province.

Local sources in the province affirmed that the militants on military vehicles stormed the city of Al-Turbah and kidnapped the journalist, Ebrahim Al-Hussaini, in Al-Shamayatain district.

Al-Hussaini was physically assaulted with rifle butts by the coalition’s militants before he was kidnapped and taken to an unknown destination inside the district, the sources added.

According to the sources, the kidnapping came against the backdrop of posts by the kidnapped journalist on “Facebook”, in which he accused the guard of the coalition-backed government’s governor in Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, of spreading and seizing the floor of a citizen by force of arms.

On January 23, 2021, the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate condemned journalist Ebrahim Al-Hussaini, who was threatened by the coalition militias in the city of Taiz.

The Islah militants in the district had previously arrested Al-Hussaini and imprisoned him in the Military Intelligence prison, on the background of his filming of a prisoner in the prison of the Islah inside the district.
