Tulsi Gabbard: Zelensky’s regime is dictatorship not a democratic

WORLD, Jan. 31 (YPA) – Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic member of the US House of Representatives, said there is nothing that unites Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky with democracy.

The former US parliamentarian stressed that Zelensky’s policies have nothing to do with democracy and they are far from it.

“It is clear that the President of Ukraine is on the path of dictatorship. “It’s time for people to think: Why did the West ignite the conflict in this country and why did it support the authoritarian regime ruling there?”

Tulsi Gabbard continued: “Our leaders are struggling to praise Zelensky. They are the ones who ignited the conflict in Ukraine and suggested to us that we must protect democracy and freedom in Ukraine, otherwise democracy and freedom around the world will be threatened. Well, let’s see what kind of democracy Zelensky supports in his country. “As you know, he not only jailed his political opponents, but he also liquidated their parties and shut down all the media outlets that are out of his control and his administration.”

She added: “In Ukraine, there is no more freedom of speech and no political opposition, and then Zelensky turned to fighting religion. There is no religious freedom in Ukraine. He closed the second largest Christian church in this country, for what reason? Was this done in the name of democracy and freedom? How can he be a supporter of the ideas of democracy that have been created and propagated in the United States?”

“All of this should serve as a wake-up call for us. Zelensky’s politics have nothing to do with democracy. It’s more like a dictatorship or tyranny.”
