SANAA, Jan. 20 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology said it is expected that large areas of mountainous governorates, deserts and interior plateaus will be affected by a new dust wave during the coming 24 hours.
In its weather bulletin today, the center expected cold to very cold and dry weather in the governorates of Dhamar, Amran, Sanaa, Saada, Bayda and Dhalea, in which the minimum temperatures range between 1-5 degrees Celsius with the possibility of frost formation in some areas.
It pointed out that the weather will be cold in parts of the mountainous heights of the governorates of Ibb, Lahj, Taiz, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout and some areas of Jawf and Marib, while the weather will be dusty to relatively dusty in the mountainous heights.
“It is expected that the horizontal visibility will gradually improve during the next 24 hours,’ the center said.
It pointed out that active winds blow at the south of the western coast and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, reaching a maximum speed of 30 knots, while the wind speed in the Socotra archipelago reaches 26 knots.
The center warned motorists on the mountainous roads and slopes of low horizontal vision, as well as children, the elderly and those suffering from respiratory diseases, to take the necessary precautions from the dust wave.
