PM praises scientific development witnessed by Yemeni universities

SANAA, Jan. 17 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor on Tuesday praised the scientific development witnessed by Yemeni universities, which rose from the rubble of aggression and siege to continue their academic and scientific career and enlightening activities.

This came during the Prime Minister’s participation in the opening session of the International Dental Expo & Conference “IDEC Yemen” – which is organized over three days by Sanaa University in cooperation with specialists in the field of providing dental supplies, with the participation of 3,000 doctors and dentists from all provinces of the Republic and international lecturers for the first time since the start of the aggression on Yemen.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of such scientific conferences to know the latest scientific production in the field of specialization and to contribute to bridging the gap that occurs due to the blockade and war imposed on Yemen by the Saudi-led aggression coalition countries.

Dr. bin Habtoor touched on the injustice suffered by the Yemeni people due to the war and blockade by the aggression countries, including the exposure of various vital sectors to severe damage, including Yemeni universities, whose buildings were bombed and were greatly affected by the siege.

“The challenges that were imposed on our people through the aggression turned, at the presidency of Yemeni universities, into real opportunities for development,” he said.

He noted the importance of holding the conference in the capital, Sanaa, which was bombed by the aggression coalition and proved, during this difficult period, that it is the capital and city of all Yemenis.

For his part, The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, considered the holding of the conference a scientific event that is recorded in the history of dentistry in Yemen.

In turn, President of the University of Sanaa – Head of the Conference, Dr. Al-Qasim Abbas, considered the holding of the IDEC in the capital, Sanaa, as an advanced step in the framework of continuing education and improving dental skills.

He valued the role of scientists from the international lecturers who took the trouble to travel from brotherly countries and broke the siege imposed on Yemen by participating in the conference.

Over the course of three days, the participants in the conference will receive scientific lectures and workshops by professors of dentistry in Yemen and the Arab world about the modern methods and means of implantation and maxillofacial surgery.
