HODEIDA, Jan. 07 (YPA) – The General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea condemned on Saturday the kidnapping of three fishermen by the coalition forces off the coast of the Buhais area in Medi district of Hajjah.
In a statement, the authority denounced these disgraceful and repeated acts of terrorizing fishermen looking for a livelihood for their families, detaining them, and torturing them as part of crimes to impose systematic starvation.
The statement held the United Nations and human rights organizations responsible for remaining silent to these criminal practices that double the suffering of fishermen, calling for them to assume their responsibilities to protect fishermen and take a stand to prevent these crimes.
The crimes of kidnapping and torture, which affect fishermen from time to time, are part of a series of crimes committed by the coalition forces against Yemeni fishermen since the start of the war on Yemen, in light of the shameful silence of the international community.
