ABYAN, Dec. 27 (YPA) – Abyan tribes vowed on Tuesday to respond appropriately to the policy of exclusion and marginalization taken by the UAE-funded Southern Transitional council in Abyan province.
A statement issued by Walid al-Fadhli, deputy chief of the province loyal to the Islah Party, called for an end of the violations that affect the tribesmen in their homes, and the expulsion of fishermen from their lands in return for establishing militia camps.
The statement called for the share of Abyan sons in military academies and scholarships abroad, and their share in senior positions in various government institutions.
It renewed the call to stand firmly against those who try to marginalize the province and seize its resources and lands, taking advantage of the absence of the state and its active role in what happening in the homeland, warning against following the policy of marginalization unjustly.
The STC militias declared war on the people of Abyan, after the overthrow of “Hadi” and his leaderships in early April, and the control of the province’s districts by the “STC” militia coming from Dhalea and Yafaa.
