Several of Al-Shabaab militants killed in southern Somalia

WORLD, Dec. 27 (YPA) -A number of militants of al-Shabaab terrorist organization were killed in a military operation in the south of the country, Somali government announced on Monday.

According to the Somali News Agency (SONNA), Somali armed forces destroyed check points where the militants were extorting money.

The Somali National Army and local forces, supported by international partners, made tangible military progress against Al-Shabaab in south Somalia, it added.
