HADRAMOUT, Dec. 02 (YPA) – Militants of the “First Military Zone” loyal to Islah established a number of military points and fortifications in the districts of Wadi Hadramout, eastern Yemen.
Local sources said the leadership of the pro-Islah region deployed dozens of armed men and military vehicles at the entrances to the city of Seiyun, the capital of the Wadi’s districts, with the goal of obstructing the crowds of the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) from celebrating the so-called “Emirati Martyr’s Day,” in addition to celebrating the 55th anniversary of the evacuation and the departure of the last British soldier from southern Yemen on November 30, 1967.
The sources reported that Islah militants at Buhaira point prevented the sons of Al-Qattan from entering Seiyun city to participate in the event funded by the UAE, amid a heavy influx from the areas near Seiyun.
Military observers believe that the STC may invest in the current tensions in the districts of Wadi Hadramout, and the tendency to detonate the situation with the goal of accelerating the military operation, which threatened the leadership of the region with zero hour during last November, after the end of the month-long deadline announced for the exit of the First Military region’s militants in the middle of last October.
