Musk calls for revolution against internet censorship in US

WORLD, Nov. 29 (YPA) –  US businessman Elon Musk has called for a “revolution” against Internet censorship in the United States and said documents containing information about the suppression of freedom of expression will soon be revealed.

Musk wrote on his Twitter account: “A revolution against online censorship in America.”

“The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself. The public deserves to know what really happened,” he wrote.

He has previously criticized Apple for stopping ads on Twitter, saying it “hates free speech in America.”

Musk launched a social media poll on whether Apple should publish all censorship actions it has taken that affect its customers.

Nearly a million users have already taken part in the poll, and the vast majority answered yes to the Twitter owner’s suggestion.

The Financial Times reported last week that a number of major brands had cut ad spending on Twitter because of Elon Musk’s policy.

The newspaper, citing advertising sources, said that after several waves of layoffs and exits, Twitter’s advertising team has dwindled so much that many agencies no longer have connections within the company and have received little or no messages in recent weeks.
