Expert: Ukraine runs out of interceptor missiles

WORLD, Nov. 29 (YPA) – Austrian analyst and expert, Gerhard Mangott, said in an interview with the newspaper “Deutschlandfunk” that intensive Russian strikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure led to the depletion of air defense missiles in Kiev.

“Russia launches a lot of cruise missiles and ballistic missiles at military infrastructure to deplete Ukrainian air defense reserves, and Ukraine uses many missiles to destroy only one target, so its interceptor missiles are running out,” the expert noted.

Western countries have shown “negligence” and “slowness” in this matter, and are now forced to respond after the fact, he said.

“The West should have thought in advance about how this component could strengthen Ukraine’s defense faster and better,” Mangott added.

Russian military forces began launching missile strikes on Ukrainian military infrastructure on October 10, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge that was carried out  by Ukrainian security services. The targets of Russian strikes are energy centers, defense industry, military headquarters and communications facilities.
