West faces serious problem over arms transfers to Ukraine

WORLD, Nov. 21 (YPA) – The US and European countries are facing challenges due to running out of stockpiles of weapons that could be sent to Ukraine, The Washington Post reported.

The newspaper quoted a representative of a NATO member state as saying: “The West is in a difficult situation. Many (of the weapons to Ukraine) have already been delivered. Western countries have to dig deeper into their reserves.”

“Recognizing the problem of arms shortages requires “strategic and long-term action”, he said.

He noted that Moscow also has large stores of military equipment.

“Russian factories for the production of artillery shells operate in two and three shifts,” the representative said.
