Israeli occupation forces forcefully displace over 3,000 Palestinians in Hebron operations

WEST BANK, Oct. 27 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces have forcibly displaced 491 Palestinian families—comprising 3,189 individuals—from the “Deir Bahha” and “Al-Jalda” neighborhoods since launching a military operation in Hebron last Friday, the Hebron Municipality announced Tuesday.

In an official statement, the municipality highlighted dire humanitarian and health conditions among the displaced, noting the population includes 209 infants, 258 elderly individuals, 137 pregnant and lactating women, 32 persons with disabilities, and 198 chronic disease patients.

The Israeli occupation military campaign entered its fourth consecutive day under a tight siege on Hebron and surrounding villages, featuring house raids and forced evacuations. The operation follows a Friday attack by two Palestinians that left two Israeli soldiers dead and three injured.

While Israeli occupation’s defense minister, Israel Katz, acknowledged the displacement of around 2,000 residents, the Hebron Municipality confirmed the documented figure exceeds 3,189 individuals from the two specified areas alone, amid ongoing movement restrictions and escalating humanitarian distress.
