UN is doing nothing about Yemen’s catastrophe: political analyst says

SNAA, June 27 (YPA)- The political analyst Jalal Fairooz said that UN is doing nothing about Yemen’s catastrophe.

He believed that the United Nations seems indifferent to the crisis in Yemen, saying it is being “superseded” by the United States to not interfere in the ongoing conflict in the impoverished country.

“What is going on is really a catastrophe. The only port of entry for humanitarian aid to Hodeidah is being attacked by the Saudis and backed by the Americans, the analyst added.

This came during an interview with Press TV on Monday.

No one seems to care neither about the children who are dying every day in huge numbers because of lack of food and because of lack of medication, he confirmed.

Cholera is spreading there and now all the bombardment from the Saudis on Hodeida city which resulted in so many casualties, including women and children
“Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed and you can see how the situation is going down the drain, he said.

A marriage gathering just a few days ago was attacked by the Saudi air force and one from the United Nations did not care to condemn this nonsense which is going on in Yemen,” he added.

The war and blockade have caused famine across Yemen. The United Nations says a record 22.2 million people are in need of food aid, including 8.4 million threatened by severe hunger.

Several Western countries are supplying the Riyadh regime with advanced weapons and military equipment.
