Campaign to seize expired food continued in Sanaa, other provinces

SANAA, Oct. 26 (YPA) – Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) on Tuesday destroyed destroyed quantities of expired foodstuffs in the capital Sanaa and other provinces.

In a statement, the YSMO explained that 1, 765 cartons and 9, 399 packages of various food products were destroyed during sudden field visits of the teams.

The statement pointed out these products does not does not meet the Product Specifications set by the YSMO and were kept in poor conditions, in addition to containing smuggled products.

It pointed to the Authority’s keenness to carry out its duties in accordance with the law, as the first line of defense for citizens, stressing  that it will not tolerate taking strict measures against  violations affecting the health of the consumers.
