Protest rally staged by UAE-funded militias in Shabwa

SAHBWA, Oct. 15 (YPA) – A mass demonstration was staged on Saturday by the UAE-funded militias in Ataq city of Shabwa province, local sources said.

The sources indicated dozens of the so-called Shabwani Elite forces backed by the UAE decided to sit-in the center of Ataq, demanding the payment of their salaries.

The sources added that the demands of the members of the Shabwa Elite was also the return of their military units or their inclusion in the militia affiliated with the UAE in Shabwa, threatening an escalation that would include the closure of public roads and main streets.

The UAE abandoned Shabwani Elite Forces and dismissed all their members.
