President Al-Mashat: “Whoever rejects rights of Yemeni people is one who obstructs armistice extension”

SANAA, Oct. 12 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mshat, on Wednesday stressed that it is not possible to accept any proposal to confiscate the rights of some of the Yemeni people.

“Whoever rejects the Yemeni people rights is the one who rejects the extension of the truce,” President Al-Mashat said during his meeting today in Sanaa with Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator, Joyce Msuya, and Tariq Talahmeh, Deputy Director of Operations, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Division at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in New York.

President Al-Mashat made it clear that the Yemeni people are the first affected by the continuation of the US-Saudi aggression and the unjust siege on it. He reiterated Sanaa’s position that adheres to a just and honorable peace.

The difficult humanitarian conditions experienced by the Yemeni people for the eighth year in a row in light of the US-Saudi aggression and the unjust siege were discussed in the meeting.

The meeting touched on the obstacles placed by the US-led aggression coalition to thwart the efforts to extend the armistice.
